One of the most supernaturally skilled players in the ACES, Simon Keene has developed from a hooping outswing bowler into one of Auckland's most aggressive all-format players in just a few short seasons.

Bursting on to the scene with a brace of five-wicket bags that helped lead the ACES to the 2021/22 Plunket Shield title, Keene naturally found the momentum difficult to maintain. Instead he grew into a genuine allrounder, hitting his maiden century in the 2022/23 season. Despite his success in the longer format, Keene struggled to break into Auckland's white ball teams until 2024/25, where his astronomical worth as an allrounder was on full display.

An 81 in a Super Smash match against Wellington at the Basin Reserve (in a 164-run opening stand with Martin Guptill) put his talents on the big stage while his bowling came to the fore in the Ford Trophy. He was subsequently named in the New Zealand A squad to tour South Africa and he showed his worth with the bat on several occasions.

Look forward to another big season from North Shore Cricket Club's finest in 2025/26!
