A new recruit for the ACES this season, Phillips barely warrants an introduction amongst New Zealand domestic cricket fans, who know him as one of the most talented batters to appear for Otago over the last few years.
Coming through the Auckland pathway system, Phillips and his older brother Glenn were both looking destined for big futures for the ACES but opportunity knocked down south for Dale and he established himself in the Volts' top order. His impressive amount of first class centuries caught the national selectors eyes and he was included in the New Zealand A squad to South Africa in August 2025, where he responded with tons in the 50 over and four day formats.
Dale's presence now shores up the ACES top order as they seek batting strength in the Plunket Shield this season. On top of that, his dynamic strokeplay and eye catching fielding is likely to win him Auckland fans in the Super Smash.
