Auckland Hearts are strongly represented in the New Zealand A squad set to tour Sri Lanka this May, with three players selected in a 15-strong group for a six-match series in Dambulla.
Batting allrounder Bella Armstrong, batter Prue Catton and left-arm orthodox bowler Fran Jonas join the tour, highlighting the depth of talent within the Hearts environment and reinforcing Auckland Cricket’s role in developing players for the national pathway.
The squad departs on 7 May, with matches played at Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium across both one-day and T20 formats.
The selection comes during a significant period for Auckland Hearts players on the international stage. Five additional Hearts players are currently touring England with the WHITE FERNS on an ODI campaign, underlining the region’s contribution at the highest level.
Following that tour, four Auckland Hearts players have been named in the WHITE FERNS squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, further demonstrating the strength and consistency of Auckland’s women’s programme.
With players competing simultaneously across New Zealand A and WHITE FERNS environments, it marks a standout period for Auckland Cricket, showcasing both emerging and established talent performing on the global stage.
