East Coast Bays all-rounder Ryan Harrison has been promoted to the ACES’ contracted player list after strong performances across all three formats this season.
Harrison has been a regular for ACES this season, making regular appearances across the Plunket Shield, Ford Trophy and Super Smash competitions.
“I’m delighted for Ryan that he has been elevated to the contracted player group,” Auckland Cricket director of performance and talent Daniel Archer said.
“It’s a fitting reward for his excellent performances this season.”
Harrison’s contributions this season include a handy 31* and 50* double with the bat in a Plunket Shield victory over Wellington; top scoring with 79 off just 47 balls in an unsuccessful Ford Trophy run chase against Canterbury; and notching a crucial undefeated 21 from just 11 balls to guide the ACES home under pressure for a Super Smash win over the Firebirds in Wellington.
He has also taken 12 wickets with the ball, including a career-best 3/91 in a Plunket Shield defeat to Canterbury in Christchurch.
“Auckland Cricket is fortunate to have some great talent coming through our system,” Archer said.
“This has resulted in limited opportunities for Will O’Donnell this season, resulting in a mutual agreement to end his contract for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.”
O’Donnell debuted for the ACES in 2018 and forged a solid record as a top order batter, compiling over 4,000 runs and 6 centuries across formats.
“I’d like to thank Will for his outstanding contribution to the ACES and Auckland Cricket over the last seven seasons,” Archer said.
