Parnell vs. Takapuna
Shore Road Reserve

Takapuna 261 (48.4 overs; W O’Donnell 155, F Goodley-Hollister 45, H Dickson 8/68) beat Parnell 241 (48.2 overs; F McGregor-Sumpter 90, H Dickson 45, M Jones 3/53) by 20 runs

Takapuna maintained their unbeaten 2025/26 season with a hard-fought win in a heavyweight clash at Shore Road Reserve, driven by several outstanding individual performances.

Having elected to bat, Takapuna were anchored by a masterful innings from opener Will O’Donnell, who carried his bat for a sensational 155 off 136 balls. With the next highest score just 12 until Flynn Goodley-Hollister’s patient 45 from 80 at number seven, O’Donnell’s knock proved indispensable in lifting the visitors to 261. Parnell’s Hayden Dickson was superb with the ball, claiming 8 for 68 in a incredible spell.

Parnell’s chase was led by Flynn McGregor-Sumpter, whose composed 90 from 97 kept the hosts firmly in the contest. Dickson then backed up his bowling heroics with a rapid 45 off 29 from number eight, swinging momentum back toward Parnell as the match tightened.

Takapuna’s bowlers held their nerve late, with Matt Jones (3/53) delivering key breakthroughs that ultimately halted the chase. Parnell were dismissed for 241 in the 49th over, falling 20 runs short in a gripping finish between two top-tier sides.

 

Hibiscus Coast vs. North Shore
Victor Eaves Park

North Shore 261/9 (50 overs; W Clarke 119, J Clough 54, R Lakmal 4/37, A Jayampathi 3/53) beat Hibiscus Coast 196 (48.3 overs; E Ramsay 57, O Davies 3/34, A Nicoll 3/34) by 65 runs

North Shore claimed a strong away victory at Victor Eaves Park, powered by a captain’s performance for the ages from Will Clarke.

After choosing to bat first, North Shore built steadily before Clarke produced a remarkable innings from number eight. Arriving with his side under pressure, the skipper counterattacked superbly, striking 119 from 112 balls to lift his team from trouble to an imposing 261 for 9. Earlier, Jack Clough contributed an important 54 off 73 from number five. Hibiscus Coast’s opening bowlers were the standouts, with Ramesh Lakmal taking 4 for 37 and Anuradha Jayampathi 3 for 53 in disciplined 10-over spells.

Hibiscus Coast’s chase never quite gathered the momentum required. Ethan Ramsay provided resistance with 57 from 81 at number six, but regular wickets prevented any sustained partnership. North Shore’s bowlers shared the load, with Oliver Davies (3/34) and Angus Nicoll (3/34) leading the attack, and captain Clarke backing up his hundred with an excellent 1 for 23 from 10 overs.

Hibiscus Coast were dismissed for 196 in the 49th over, giving North Shore a convincing 65-run win built on one of the standout individual performances of the season.


Auckland University vs. Birkenhead
Colin Maiden Park

Auckland University 297/5 (50 overs; J Stephan 113, J Low 64, N Robinson 52) beat Birkenhead 137 (33.5 overs; B Barnard 38, C Jasmat 5/38, K Mackenzie 3/17) by 160 runs

Auckland University delivered a dominant all-round performance at Colin Maiden Park, posting a formidable total before dismantling Birkenhead’s chase with clinical efficiency.

After electing to bat, Auckland University built their innings around a superb century from Joshua Stephan, who anchored the effort with 113 from 112 balls at number three. He was supported by Nathan Robinson’s composed 52 off 74 at number four, while Jonathan Low provided late acceleration with 64 from 49 in the middle order. Their combined efforts carried the hosts to an imposing 297 for 5 from their 50 overs.

Birkenhead struggled to keep pace in reply. Brian Barnard fought hard with 38 off 43 at number four, but wickets tumbled too frequently for a serious challenge to develop. First-change bowler Caleb Jasmat ripped through the batting lineup with an outstanding 5 for 38, while Kieren Mackenzie provided strong support with 3 for 17.

Birkenhead were dismissed for 137 in the 34th over, giving Auckland University a commanding 160-run victory built on batting class and incisive bowling.

East Coast Bays vs. Cornwall
Windsor Park

Cornwall 261/6 (50 overs; P Mistry 65, L Dasent 52*, R Hekmat 32) beat East Coast Bays 156 (40.3 overs; R Hekmat 4/45, L Dasent 3/26) by 105 runs

Cornwall claimed a strong away victory at Windsor Park, building a well-rounded batting effort before their bowlers dismantled East Coast Bays’ chase.

After choosing to bat, Cornwall constructed their total around Priyam Mistry’s patient 65 from 95 balls at number four. Lucas Dasent added valuable lower-order stability with an unbeaten 52 from 60 deliveries, while Rahman Hekmat provided late acceleration, smashing 32 from just 20 balls to lift Cornwall to 261 for 6 from their 50 overs.

East Coast Bays began brightly in reply, putting on a 50-run opening stand. However, once the partnership was broken, the innings lost momentum and no batter was able to pass Brodie Harrison’s 26. The pressure mounted as Cornwall’s bowlers tightened their grip, led by legspinner Rahman Hekmat, who capped a superb all-round outing with 4 for 45 from his 10 overs. Lucas Dasent completed an excellent match of his own, adding 3 for 26 to his earlier half-century.

East Coast Bays were bowled out for 156 in the 41st over, giving Cornwall a convincing 105-run win built on composed batting and a dominant bowling display.

 

Richard Jones Trophy

Kumeu vs. Papatoetoe
Huapai Domain

Papatoetoe 283/8 (50 overs; A Virdi 75, S Sukh 72, S Patel 3/50) beat Kumeu 223 (46.5 overs; K Munro 76, S Birla 5/39) by 60 runs

Papatoetoe produced a strong all-round performance to claim a 60-run victory over Kumeu in their Richard Jones Trophy clash.

After being sent in, Papatoetoe’s innings was powered by key contributions from the middle order. Aaron Virdi anchored the effort with a composed 75 from 91 balls at number three, while Sukhdev Sukh provided the aggression, striking 72 off 65 at number four. Despite Kumeu opener Shiv Patel taking 3 for 50 from six overs, Papatoetoe maintained control throughout the innings, finishing with an imposing 283 for 8 from their 50 overs.

Kumeu’s chase faltered early, but number eight batter Kieran Munro briefly revived hopes with an entertaining 76 from just 55 deliveries, counterattacking to keep his side alive deep into the innings. However, Papatoetoe’s bowlers continued to chip away, led by opening bowler Sunit Birla, whose excellent spell of 5 for 39 from nine overs proved decisive.

Kumeu were eventually dismissed for 223 in the 47th over, giving Papatoetoe a deserved win built on strong batting foundations and a match-winning spell from Birla.

 

Grafton vs. Waitakere
Victoria Park

Grafton 234 (49.2 overs; A Narula 43 not out, I Hussain 3/52) lost to Waitakere 235/4 (47.4 overs; P Jayamanne 67 not out, T Patel 57) by 6 wickets

Waitakere completed a composed six-wicket victory at Victoria Park, overcoming a competitive Grafton total with a steady, controlled chase.

Grafton opted to bat first but suffered an immediate setback when captain and opener Dylan Taylor was dismissed first ball of the match. Despite several batters getting starts, none were able to push on to a substantial score. Remarkably, the top contribution came from number ten batter Anurag Narula, whose unbeaten 43 from 53 balls lifted Grafton to 234. Waitakere’s Imran Hussain was the most effective bowler, taking 3 for 52 from his eight overs.

Waitakere’s reply was calm and methodical. Captain Tejas Patel set the tone with a measured 57 from 67 balls at the top of the order, guiding his side through the early stages. Number three batter Prasansana Jayamanne then anchored the chase superbly, finishing 67 not out from 86 deliveries to see Waitakere home with 14 balls to spare.

The win reflected a disciplined effort with both bat and ball from Waitakere, while Grafton were left to rue missed opportunities in an innings filled with starts but lacking a defining partnership.

 

Ellerslie vs. Suburbs New Lynn
Michaels Ave Reserve

Suburbs New Lynn 200/4 (25 overs; S Mirza 79, M Barry 52) beat Ellerslie 160/9 (25 overs; A Ogra 45, S Wimalaratne 40) by 40 runs

Suburbs New Lynn secured a strong 40-run win in a reduced 25-over contest at Michaels Ave Reserve, powered by a decisive middle-order partnership and a well-rounded bowling display.

After being sent in, Suburbs acceleratde dramatically through Shozib Mirza and Michael Barry. Mirza struck 79 from 62 balls at number three, while Barry added a brisk 52 from 39 at number four. Their combined effort pushed Suburbs to an imposing 200 for 4 from their allotted overs.

Ellerslie’s chase was led by Adi Ogra, who compiled 45 from 40 balls, and opener Shannon Wimalaratne, who contributed 40 from 35. Despite their efforts, regular wickets prevented any sustained momentum, and Ellerslie finished on 160 for 9.

With wickets shared across the Suburbs attack, the visitors completed a controlled victory in shortened conditions.

 

 

Howick Pakuranga vs. Eden Roskill

Howick Pakuranga 232/4 (46.1 overs; D Winn 108* J McGregor 87*, D Bhatti 3/31) beat Eden Roskill 228/9 (50 overs; D Ratra 43, H Singh 4/50) by 6 wickets

Howick Pakuranga chased down Eden Roskill’s total in assured fashion at Lloyd Elsmore Park, powered by a match-winning unbeaten partnership of 198 between David Winn and Josh McGregor.

Eden Roskill, batting first, were anchored early by opener Dev Ratra, who made 43 from 58 balls. Their innings was punctuated by steady contributions but no major stand, until number 11 Abdul M Ahmadzai produced a valuable 37 not out from 43 balls to lift the total to 228 for 9. Harmeet Singh led the Howick Pak attack with 4 for 50 from his 10 overs.

In reply, Howick Pakuranga found themselves in a steady position before their middle order took complete control. David Winn crafted a superb 108 not out from 131 balls at number five, expertly pacing the chase. He was joined by Josh McGregor, whose composed 87 not out from 105 balls at number six ensured the momentum never dipped. Together, the pair shared an unbroken partnership that guided the hosts home with 23 balls to spare.

It was a clinical chase from Howick Pakuranga and an impressive display of temperament and skill from their middle order.

 

Legends Cup

Team Down vs. Team Green
Cornwall Park

Team Green 81/2 (18.3 overs; N Pistorius 26, A Malcolm 16*) beat Team Down 80 (28.3 overs; A Patel 2/15, I Clayton 2/13, C Linck 2/16) by 8 wickets

Team Green produced a polished all-round display at Cornwall Park, securing a comfortable victory after a disciplined bowling performance set up a straightforward chase.

Having elected to bowl first, Team Green quickly put Team Down on the back foot. The wickets were shared evenly among the attack, with Aaliyah Patel (2 for 15), Isla Clayton (2 for 13) and Caylee Linck (2 for 16) all striking regularly to keep scoring opportunities to a minimum. Team Down were unable to build any meaningful partnerships and were dismissed for 80 in 28.3 overs.

The reply was measured and efficient. Opener Nelita Pistorius ensured a brisk start with a fluent 26 from 16 balls, taking early control of the chase. Augustine Malcolm played the anchor role perfectly, finishing unbeaten on 16 from 36 deliveries as Team Green crossed the line at 81 for 2 in the 19th over.

It was a comprehensive performance that highlighted Team Green’s balance with both bat and ball.

 

Team Perkins vs. Team Huddleston
Cornwall Park

Team Huddleston 165/6 (43 overs; N Woollaston 50, J Smith 31 not out) beat Team Perkins 164 (44.4 overs; R Patel 44, M Lamplough 28) by 4 wickets

Team Huddleston claimed a steady, well-controlled win at Cornwall Park, chasing down Team Perkins’ total with seven overs to spare in a match where both sides shared the wickets widely across their bowling attacks.

Batting first, Team Perkins were anchored by opener Radhika Patel, who compiled a composed 44 from 62 balls. Marina Lamplough added 28 from 37 in the middle order as Perkins worked their way to 164. With eight bowlers used, Team Huddleston applied constant rotation and pressure, preventing any major partnership from forming.

In reply, Team Huddleston built their chase around the patience and consistency of opener Neena Woollaston, whose 50 from 90 balls provided the perfect platform. Jess Smith guided the innings home with an unbeaten 31 from 48 deliveries, ensuring the required rate never became a factor. Despite using nine bowlers, Team Perkins couldn't break the crucial middle-order stand that sealed the match.

Team Huddleston reached 165 for 6 in the 43rd over, completing a composed four-wicket win built on shared bowling workloads and a disciplined batting effort.
