SQUAD NEWS: ACES Set for Top-of-the-Table Clash Against Canterbury

 ACES

The ACES are back in action tomorrow in a top-of-the-table clash against Canterbury at Mainpower Oval, Rangiora. With both teams already securing at least a spot in the elimination final in Dunedin next week, this match carries even greater significance—the winner will finish on top of the Ford Trophy table and go straight through to the grand final on March 2.

The ACES head into this one with an unchanged squad from Tuesday’s rain-shortened thriller against the Firebirds. It wasn’t the result they were after, falling to Wellington on the second to last ball, but there were plenty of positives to take forward. Jock McKenzie continued his outstanding form with another well-crafted half-century, while returning skipper Finn Allen wasted no time getting back into the swing of things, blasting a powerful 45 off 39 at the top of the order. With key players finding their rhythm at the business end of the competition, the ACES will be looking to make a statement in Rangiora.

Canterbury, meanwhile, have been one of the form teams of the tournament, setting up a high-stakes battle between two sides eager to cement their place at the top. The ACES will need to be at their best, and they’ll be backing their mix of experience and emerging talent to rise to the occasion.

With first ball at 10:30 AM, it promises to be a gripping contest as the ACES push for a direct path to the final. Fans can catch all the action live on New Zealand Cricket’s YouTube channel—don’t miss a moment as the race for the Ford Trophy reaches its climax.
