East Coast Bays won the toss and opted to bat first. Parnell quickly dismissed the Bays’ top order, leaving it to the lower middle order to rescue their side. Louis Delport made a counter-attacking 92 off 74 balls and received solid support from the lower order, helping Bays reach a competitive total of 216 all out. Jack Wright picked up 3 for 31, with each bowler contributing at least one wicket. In response, Parnell scored 120, thanks to solid contributions from Tom Dunlop (33) and Daniel Presland (30). Presland fell on what turned out to be the last ball of the day to Delport, who currently has 3 wickets going into Day 2.

Auckland University won the toss and decided to bowl first. Takapuna’s batters ensured they spent most of the day in the field, thanks to contributions from Sam Collinson (58 off 107), Edward Middleton (45 off 94), and Matt Jones (44* off 40). Caleb Jasmat was the most effective bowler, taking 4/39 off 14.2 overs, helping to bowl Takapuna out for 275. Auckland University had 14 overs to bat for the remainder of day one. Takapuna managed to achieve an early breakthrough; however, Uni remained just 1 down with 28 runs on the board, largely due to an unbeaten 21 from Kieran Mackenzie.

North Shore won the toss and opted to bat first against Suburbs New Lynn. Max Clarke was the standout performer, scoring 52 off 96 balls, and with support from the middle order, they managed to post a total of 185 before being bowled out. Luke Devereaux excelled among the bowlers, taking 5 wickets for 37 runs in his 13.2 overs. In response, Shozib Mirza is currently the top scorer with 47, while Will Clarke has figures of 4 for 27 as Suburbs commence day two at 7 for 119 in a low-scoring thriller, with much still on the line and crucial points up for grabs as both sides languish at the bottom of the table.

Cornwall won the toss and elected to bowl first against Grafton. There were contributions all down the Grafton batting card with Fraser Campbell top scoring and remaining unbeaten on 44 batting at 9. 30’s for Jack Duffy (35) and Kyle Ruffell (32) helped take the score up to 246.  Wickets were shared between most of the bowlers with Jamie Hayes the notable contributor with 3/59 from his 15 overs. With just the 11 overs remaining in the days play, Ross Ter Braak managed to strike twice and have Cornwall 2/31 by the end of the day.

Waitakere won the toss and elected to bat first against Ellerslie. Tejas Patel top scored for Waitakere with 91 off 195 balls, followed by his opening partner Gurpreet Raj with 45 off 118. Following the big opening partnership, Prasansana Jayamanne came in at 3 and continued the momentum with 44 off 72. From there Ellerslie were able to get back into the game through 3 wickets to Sam Edkins (3/67 off 23) and Akshay Sreenivasan (3/96 off 32.4). Ellerslie were able to bowl Waitakere out right at the end of the day for 292, meaning Ellerslie will begin their batting innings at the resumption of play on day 2, chasing 293 to win first innings.

Hibiscus Coast won the toss and elected to bat first against the visitors, Papatoetoe. Anuradha Jayampathi was the main contributor, making 87 of 129, with 4 other batters making starts; Hibiscus made their way to 268 before being bowled out. Avnit Prasad bowled the bulk of the overs and returned figures of 4/82 off 22 overs, and Manav Kumar also managed to chip in with 3/40 from his 11 overs. In reply, Papatoetoe’s opener, Ritapraj Gill, made 33 off 35 and is currently the top score, with Mantej Singh (8* off 43) and Austin Sood (0* off 8) the not-out batters to begin proceedings for Papatoetoe at resumption of play on day 2.

Birkenhead won the toss and elected to bat first. Sumudu Maturata (125 off 99) and Dinesh Kharel (102 off 164), batting at 2 and 3, made it count as they both went past three figures. This laid the platform for the rest of their side to chip in and make 337 before being bowled out in the 74th over. Syed Mujtaba (4/71 off 18.2 overs) and Jay Patel (3/72 off 16) did most of the damage for Roskill.  With 21 overs left to bat for the remainder of the day, Roskill managed to get to 67, 3 wickets down. Damien van der Berg is the current top scorer with 29; however, Mujtaba is still unbeaten on 20, heading into day 2.

Howick Pakuranga won the toss and sent the hosts, Kumeu, in to bat. Kabir Shingala scored 46 off 85 before he was dismissed off Sam Molloy’s bowling on his way to take 3/34. Azharudin Lambat picked up 4/19 off 10.1 overs, helping to bowl Kumeu out for 127. Howick made the most of their 35 overs they had to bat for the remainder of day 1, managing to go past Kumeu’s score and be in a healthy position thanks to the Winn brothers, Liam making 92 opening the batting and David remaining unbeaten on 62 off 47. Howick looking to push for an outright result, with David Winn and Lambat returning to the crease at the start of day 2.

Cornwall won the toss and elected to bat first at Cornwall Park. North Shore started strong with the ball and kept picking up constant wickets throughout the innings, thanks to 2fers for Isabella Watson (2/16), Anna Callahan (2/18) and Jessie Canty (2/19). Lydia Battin top scored with 19, with Cornwall making 99 from their 20 overs. Chasing 100 to win, North Shore’s captain Emily Handyside steadied the ship with constant wickets falling around her, holding her nerve and remaining unbeaten on 49. Eve Meachen took 2/19, but it wasn’t enough as Handyside saw her side through to a win in a last-over thriller, winning by three wickets and with just two balls to spare.

Parnell won the toss and elected to bowl first against Suburbs New Lynn. Gwen Davies fought hard at the top of the order for her 18 off 22, but it was Miah Smith who took some momentum into the second innings for her side with an unbeaten 34 off 24. The eight wickets were shared between Olivia Anderson, Mollie Drumm, Madison Curry and Renee Macmillan, each picking up two wickets. Suburbs had the perfect start, picking up a wicket off the first ball taken by Anika Tauwhare, who finished with 2/11 off her three overs, and it was all downhill from there. Esther Williams, too, had 3/5 off 2.5 overs as Parnell was bowled out for just 31, and Suburbs New Lynn was winning by 72 runs.

Takapuna won the toss and elected to bowl first. Kaitlyn Halliday and Nellie Chapman finished on identical figures of 3/16 off 4 overs for Takapuna. Sonnia Vaia and Kate Duffield top-scored for Auckland Uni with 23 and 20, respectively, helping to get their side up to 103 from their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Taila Hurley, opening the batting, made 45 off 40 helping to set a platform for her side. Sophie Court took 2/9 off 3.2 and Duffield chipped in with 2/21 as well but it wasn’t enough to restrict Takapuna as they went on to win by 5 wickets and with 4 balls to spare.

Zarah Samadi bowled an eventful over, picking up 3 wickets and going for 7 runs, and Holly Whitfield also chipped in with a highly economical 2/5 from 4. Whitfield carried the momentum into her batting, remaining unbeaten on 30 off 41. Lydia Battin was the pick of the bowlers with 2/7 off 2 for Cornwall however, Suburbs would go on to win the match by 4 wickets.

Mollie Drumm was the pick of the bowlers with 4/11 from her 4 overs, helping to bowl North Shore out for 65. Both openers were runout for Parnell but Olivia Anderson held her nerve and saw her side home with an unbeaten 32, Parnell winning by 8 wickets.

Howick Pakuranga’s openers got to work, putting on 71 for the first wicket, Radhika Patel top-scoring with 43 off 40, and Neena Woollaston making an unbeaten 38 off 62. Chasing 105 to win, Monique Way made 34 off 38 opening the batting to set a platform for Takapuna. Nitya Choudhary picked up 2/15 from 3 helping to take the game right down to the last over of the match. Needing 3 off the last 3 balls, Takapuna managed to pick up 3 singles and win the match on the last ball of the game with 3 wickets to spare.
