The ACES return to Ford Trophy action on Waitangi Day, taking on the Central Stags at Eden Park’s Kennards Hire Community Oval. With five rounds played, the ACES sit at the top of the table and will be looking to reinforce their strong one-day form after a Super Smash campaign that didn’t go the way they wanted.
With several players unavailable due to injury and other commitments, the squad has a fresh look, bringing energy and opportunity for players to step up. The ACES will be determined to make a statement and continue their push towards the Ford Trophy finals, knowing the competition is heating up as teams jostle for position on the ladder.
Standing in their way is a Central Stags side brimming with confidence after claiming the Super Smash title. The last time these two teams met in one-day cricket, the ACES had the upper hand, securing a win in New Plymouth back in October. They’ll be looking for a repeat performance in front of their home crowd.
With plenty on the line and two quality teams going head-to-head, it’s shaping up to be an exciting contest. First ball is at 10.30am on Thursday, 6th February. It’s free entry and will be live-streamed on New Zealand Cricket’s YouTube channel.
