Former Auckland ACES legspinner Tarun Nethula continues his association with Auckland Cricket with his appointment to the role of Head of Talent & Pathway.

Nethula, who served as the Auckland HEARTS assistant coach last season while continuing to work as Sports Parks Manager at Auckland Council, represented the ACES in all three formats between 2008 and 2018, taking 258 wickets.

He also represented the BLACKCAPS in five one day internationals in 2011/12.

“I am thrilled to be joining Auckland Cricket. Our community is brimming with talent, and I am eager to ensure that identified players receive the support and opportunities to elevate their development,” says Nethula.

“I look forward to collaborating closely with the new GM of Performance and Talent (Evan Jones) and the ACES and HEARTS coaches to deliver a pipeline of athletes ready to step up into the high performance space.”

Auckland Cricket’s Interim CEO Ian Francis says Nethula’s background both on the park and behind the scenes will add tremendous value to our community.

“Tarun brings a wealth of experience to us through his extensive knowledge and connections within the Auckland network.

“His expertise in cricket and coaching, both internationally and domestically, along with his strong leadership credentials through various roles including his most recent time at Auckland Council, will strengthen our overall Talent & Pathway system” says Francis.

Nethula will begin in his new role in early September.
