Jordan Sussex Named as 16th Contracted ACES Player for 2024/25

The ACES contract list for 2024/25 is now complete with Jordan Sussex named as the 16th and final player.

The 30-year old Takapuna District Cricket Club seamer has been in and around the ACES setup for the last few seasons but burst through the ranks with two incredible performances in the Plunket Shield at the end of last season.

Firstly, his 6/46 at McLean Park in March took the ACES to an unlikely win against the Central Stags.

He then followed this up a week later with 8/71 against Canterbury in Auckland, the best bowling figures for an Auckland player in the four-day format since 2012.

“Representing the ACES has always been a dream of mine, and I’ve been very fortunate to have a small taste of that over the past couple of years,” says Sussex.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the moments that I’ve shared with this team, so I’m stoked to receive a contract for the season ahead.”

Auckland Cricket’s Interim General Manager of Performance & Talent Jonathan Bassett-Graham sees Sussex’s contract offer as a reward for persistence as well as ability.

“Jordan’s well and truly earned his promotion into the contracted group through his efforts in club and A cricket.

“His performances at the end of last season in the Plunket Shield are evidence of his skill with the ball and we look forward to what he’ll bring to the ACES this season,” says Bassett-Graham.
