The schedule for three 2023/24 domestic competitions has been announced and we are blessed with a bevy of home matches at Kennards Hire Community Oval.

Combined with the soon-to-be-announced dates for the Super Smash, 2023/24 is set to be a carnival of cricketing action.

As usual, the Plunket Shield kicks off the summer on the 20th of October with the ACES taking on defending champions the Central Stags at home. The ACES will play three of their four home matches at home before Christmas before returning back to Eden Park to finish off the summer against rivals Canterbury on the 24th-27th of March.

In between, the ACES and HEARTS will compete for the 50-over Hallyburton Johnstone Shield and Ford Trophy competititions, which are also split into two halves on either side of the Super Smash: November/December and February.

The HEARTS start their 2023/24 season away from home against Northern Districts in Whangarei on the 18th of November. They have four home HBJ matches scheduled, all taking place before Christmas. As per last summer, these are weekend double-headers.

The Ford Trophy has an even distribution of home and away matches, also beginning away from home in Invercargill against the Otago Volts on the 25th of November.
