BIG HOME SUMMER ANNOUNCED AS EDEN PARK SET TO HOST T20 AUSTRALIA DOUBLE

 T20

The first New Zealand international summer to be screened live on free-to-air TVNZ in 24 years will comprise a potential 48 days of cricket, played across 10 venues from Auckland in the north to Dunedin in the south.

Auckland will have two chances to witness one of the great rivalries in international cricket play out on the largest New Zealand stage possible.

First up on Friday night of January 12 the BLACKCAPS open their T20I series against Pakistan at Eden Park before the venue becomes the battleground twice in three days when the BLACKCAPS take on Australia in two T20Is on February 23 and 25.

Garnering record crowd numbers at Eden Park for their T20 encounter in 2018, bumper crowds are expected again with a Friday night encounter first up followed by a Sunday afternoon fixture.

Kane Williamson’s side will have a slight edge after claiming a commanding 89-run over the Aussies in their ICC T20 World Cup opener in Sydney last year.

On that occasion Devon Conway smashed an unbeaten 92*, Tim Southee claimed the incredible figures of 3-6, and of course there was that Glenn Phillips superman catch.
