ACES eye up win in final away match as season winds down

Having completed two hard fought matches where the results didn’t quite go their way, the ACES will be eyeing a win against Central Stags in Napier tomorrow as the season enters its final stage.

This Plunket Shield match is the second-to-last fixture for the ACES this season. Both their last two matches – against Otago and Northern Districts – came down to the wire with the Auckland side coming within one wicket of victory in Dunedin and within three balls of a draw in Hamilton.

An injury to Harjot Johal means Takapuna fast-medium bowler Jordan Sussex gets the chance to add to his tally of one first class match, which came against the Stags in April 2022. He’ll be eager to continue the success of his debut, where he picked up 3/36 in a drawn match.

Nikith Perera remains in the squad and could be in line for a debut depending on how conditions at McLean Park are assessed tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow’s match kicks off at 10:30am with live scoring at scoring.nzc.nz and a live stream on NZC’s YouTube channel.

Out with injury: Adi Ashok, Matt Gibson, Ryan Harrison, Harjot Johal.

Out with overseas commitments: Martin Guptill, James Neesham.
