Last season was something of a breakthrough year for Victoria Lind as she made it into the Whiteferns squad that travelled to the World Twenty20 competition in England and then the ensuing winter training squads.
Whilst Lind is only 24 she already has six years of domestic cricket under her belt and has the potential to emulate the player she replaced behind the stumps in the Hearts line-up - Rebecca Rolls.
A powerful batter and a more than tidy keeper, this season Lind will have to adjust to the pressures of captaincy as well, but all the signs are that she is more than ready for the challenge ahead.
