NZ Cricket Level One Coaching Course
Auckland Cricket delivers the NZC Level One coaching course in a modular format. Six modules make up the qualification and each module is delivered 3-4 times annually at different venues throughout the winter.
To successfully complete the qualification, participants must attend all six modules within a two year period. However, coaches with a 'Coaching a Cricket Team' (CACT) qualification can attend one-off modules if they wish to upskill in certain areas (although we would recommend completing the whole course).
The six modules are:
1. Coaching Styles and Approaches (2.5 hrs) 2. The Practice Session & The Match Day (2.5 hrs) 3. Batting (3 hrs) 4. Bowling (3 hrs) 5. Fielding & Wicket Keeping (3 hrs) 6. Umpiring (3 hrs - doubling as a Level One umpiring qualification delivered by the ACUSA)
Duration: 17 hours
Max no. of participants per module: 20
Course tutors: Accredited NZ Cricket Coach Educators
Cost: $100 (or $25 per module)
Exam components: Skills demonstration, Group Coaching assessment, ACUSA Umpiring assessment, Workbook.
Applicants should be:
1. Active coaches 2. Have completed a 'Coaching a Cricket Team' course 3. Be over 18
Dispensations for coaches who do not meet this criteria will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
