Fielding Exercise - Throwing Game

 

This fielding drill is quick and easy to set up and gives players the opportunity to practice shying at a stump and backing up.  There should be even numbers of players behind the cones in each corner of the square and once the drill is up and running, introduce two balls so players have to concentrate and be on their toes.

  • A throws at stump 1, B backs up
  • B throws at stump 2, while C backs up
  • C throws at stump 1, while D backs up
  • D throws at stump 3 while A backs up
  • Drill restarts with A throwing at stump 1
  • Players rotate clockwise around the square
  • Once get the hang of it try using two balls
