2010 'Outward Bound' Country of Origin

Keith Hay Park - February 21 to March 28

Ivan from TongaAuckland Cricket's "Country of Origin" Twenty20 cricket tournament is a unique competition that reflects Auckland's cosmopolitan society by bringing together a number of culturally diverse communities that share a common interest in cricket.

This season the competition will see 10 teams battling it out for their country of origin - Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Fiji for the first time join Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Samoa, Niue, Cook Islands, Tonga and India.

The main objectives of the competition are to bring together these communities, to share their experiences about life in New Zealand, and encourage their ongoing participation in cricket.  It also provides an opportunity to play the popular Twenty20 format which makes for some action-packed, hard-hitting Sunday afternoons.

The competition is held in a round-robin format over five consecutive Sunday afternoons at Keith Hay Park, Mt Roskill culminating in a cross-pool finals day on Sunday 28 March.
