Five Hearts named in NZ Emerging Players

Georgia Guy has been a big part of the Hearts success this season
The Hearts have had a stellar season, making two finals and winning the one day competition, and that success has propelled five of them into the initial New Zealand Emerging Players squad from which a team will be selected to take on England in February.
Maddie Green and Katie Perkins, who have already been named in the White Ferns side to contest the Rose Bowl series against Australia this month, are joined by Georgia Guy, Lauren Down and Holly Huddleston in the intial squad of 21. That will be trimmed down to a final 14 after the completion of the White Ferns series in Australia.
For Guy and Down in particular it's a meteoric rise considering they only made their debuts for the Hearts at the beginning of the domestic season. But both have shown real maturity in their performances across both competitions as they have become regulars in the Hearts starting line-up.
They have been part of a Hearts bowling attack that was a key weapon in their success this season, while Down has also displayed big hitting ability in some memorable cameos with the bat.
The Emerging Players will play against their English counterparts from February 11-14.
