Anaru Kitchen comes back into the Aces line-up
The Auckland Aces have made three changes for their first Ford Trophy match with the Wellington Firebirds in Lincoln on Friday.
Off spinner Ronnie Hira, batsmen Anaru Kitchen and all-rounder Colin Munro join the Aces in the South Island, replacing Andrew de Boorder, Bruce Martin and Jeet Raval from their Plunket Shield match that ended today.
The Aces go in as defending champions but coach Paul Strang says that won't be in their minds as they commence their campaign.
"We're not taking anything for granted and we know how hard we had to work last season to get that victory."
Strang is glad however that his side comes into the competition with some good form on their side.
"It hasn't been a perfect start to the season but we've put in some good performances and hung in there to get results, and that gives everyone in the side confidence and belief that we can win the close ones."
The twelve to face Wellington on Friday are as follows:
Gareth Hopkins (Captain) (Parnell)
Andre Adams (Overseas professional)
Michael Bates (Suburbs New Lynn)
Brad Cachopa (Takapuna)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Ronnie Hira (North Shore)
Anaru Kitchen (Waitakere City)
Tim McIntosh (Parnell)
Kyle Mills (Howick Pakuranga)
Colin Munro (Howick Pakuranga)
Neal Parlane (East Coast Bays)
Bhupinder Singh (Papatoetoe)
