James Nolen and Ajaz Patel meet for a chat
It was a rain shortened day on Saturday for Premier Cricket but Ken Maunder Park was the only ground where they managed to play through to an outright result.
It was all Parnell in the morning, as they picked up wickets with Suburbs chasing quick runs. However Darren Eckford then completed an amazing return to Premier cricket with another five wicket bag to take his match tally to 11 and help dismiss Parnell for just 173. Martin Guptill then ensured that the outright was obtained with a belligerent unbeaten 56.
Unfortunately for Guppy we weren't there to capture his second innings, but we were there to see his first - which makes better viewing if you're a Parnell fan. And that's good, because they could probably do with some cheering up after the weekend...
