The winning Westlake side

Westlake BHS will represent Auckland in the NZCT Year 9 finals tournament next year after defeating Sacred Heart College in the Auckland final at Waikaraka Park last week.

Westlake put the runs on the board in the final with an excellent total of 213/5 off their 40 overs. Clayton Floyd (54) and Stefan Baumgartner (47) led the way for Westlake and whilst Glen Phillips (76) was at the crease Sacred Heart looked like they might have a chance.

But his dismissal triggered a collapse that turned the game for Westalke and made sure they secured the Auckland Crown.

Westlake will represent Auckland in Taupo at the national finals in March.

We managed to get to Waikaraka Park to catch some of the Sacred Heart innings.
