Fletcher has been training with his fellow Aucklanders under the eye of NZ U19 coach Matt Horne
The New Zealand Under 19 team will leave these shores early next week to take on the best young talent that the cricketing world has to offer in the U19 World Cup.
They will play a series of warm-up games before they start the tournament proper on 12 August against Scotland. Their group also contains the somewhat unknown quantity of Afghanistan and the heavy hitter of the four teams, Pakistan.
The Pakistanis were runners up in the last tournament in New Zealand two years ago and always field very strong sides at this level. The New Zealanders will be hoping that they negotiate their first two games without mishap to ensure that their last round robin game against Pakistan isn't a must-win affair.
Young Auckland wicket-keeper Cameron Fletcher is one of five Aucklanders in the New Zealand side travelling to Australia so we put a few questions to him about the tournament and also quizzed him about his time on the Auckland Cricket AUT Diploma Course.
