Captain and coach talk tactics at training

Nafanua, the Samoan Women's national cricket team, leave New Zealand shores this weekend to head to Vanuatu and their chance at international glory.

The team will take part in a six team ICC EAP World Cup qualifying event against Japan, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Cook Islands and the host country.

Last time around the side missed out on the final in Japan but the change in format to Twenty20 should benefit the hard hitting Samoan side.

They travel with plenty of experience, three of the players having had some taste of first class experience in New Zealand and a couple playing in Australian competitions.

They will travel under the guidance of successful Auckland Hearts coach Maia Lewis so we got down to their last training session in Auckland to talk to her and co-captain Regina Lili'i to get their thoughts on the competition.
