Relay for Life - Auckland Cricket steps up

Tuesday, 1 March 2011

Auckland Cricket is helping support the Cancer Society in their drive to fight the causes of cancer and assist those living with the disease by participating in the Relay For Life this Saturday and Sunday.

Relay For Life is an event that both commemorates those that have succumbed to cancer and those that have survived the disease in the past year. It's also one of the main fundraising events for the Cancer Society and we're trying to do our bit to help them out. Click here for more information about the event.

The Cancer Society Auckland have committed to sending some of the proceeds from the event to help in the reconstruction of both the Cancer Society offices and accommodation facilities in Christchurch that have been affected by the earthquake.

So for 17 hours from 4pm this Saturday a team comprising of Auckland Cricket staff and Hearts players and support staff will be walking/running around the track at the Millenium Institue on the North Shore non-stop until 10am on Sunday morning, along with close to 1000 other people.

It will be a very long night for some but it's for a great cause and if you'd like to help us in our efforts to raise money we'd love to have your donation. Just click here and choose the North Shore event, Auckland Cricket as a team and then whichever team member you want.

Auckland Cricket is proud to be a supporter of Cancer Society Auckland - working together for fit and healthy communities.

Auckland Cricket would like to thank all our sponsors and partners for their support.
